ABBL welcomes closer EU-UK cooperation on financial services
The Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL) views the agreement between the United Kingdom and the European Union to collaborate on financial services regulation as a favorable development for the European banking industry.
According to Camille Seillès, Secretary General at the ABBL, the agreement represents a promising advancement for the industry. “It sets a framework for discussion. Both sides are committing to a regular twice-yearly meeting to discuss voluntary regulatory cooperation with financial services issues. There will be information sharing and both parties will work together towards meeting joint challenges and coordinate positions.”
